I am sooo ready for June and for this full-time job to be over!!

The winds of change have blown over our little abode again. This Kaleidoscope blog was created due to the fact that we were starting our adoption journey again to a little country called Haiti. We were going to adopt a son. People gave us money. We did everything we were supposed to do. Apparently we aren't supposed to adopt again or it just isn't God's timing.

Not sure about any of it.

I do know that I have fought hand, tooth and nail with God over this and guess what? He won. ; ) There isn't enough room on here to tell the craziness of our adoption attempts over the past four years and more specifically the past year.

The doors are shut.

Maybe we are trying too soon or maybe we are called to just have our one precious, darling PandaGirl. That's right, I said PandaGirl. I have just had the hardest time typing Rainbow Brite on this blog. I thought it went along with the whole colorful kaleidoscope thing.

This is the last post for Kaleidoscope, which means I need a new blog. Only I didn't want to go directly back to Pandapalooza. Sooooo----go here to see our new adventure.

Thanks for hanging with me through this sporadic season and for changing your link to me...again. If you can, comment on the new blog so I know you've come over to the new place! ; )PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-170051260380937342009-02-02T01:26:00.000-08:002009-02-02T04:03:12.662-08:00Happy Gotcha Day, Rainbow Brite!!!Five years ago today, we held our darling daughter for the first time. What a ride it's been!

Thank you, Lord, for infertility and the grace You have shown to us by the blessings of learning how to parent this sweet child. (Yes, my name is Jana in case I have never put that on my blogs.) Back in 1992, a few days after Mister Green proposed to me, he was just so in love that he gave me my own day. So I not only get my Birthday, Christmas, Valentine's and Mother's Day, but I get my OWN day as well! I just love my man. You're gonna laugh at what he got me. After watching a VH-1 Classics about Def Leppard and we realized how incredibly musical, artistic and perfectionistic these guys were in making their music I really wanted some old 80's tunes from them to work out to on the treadmill. Though most of the lyrics are HORRIBLE, they were always one of my favorite bands!! For whatever reason, iTunes doesn't have any of their music to download so my man found it online somewhere and had it shipped here this week. Yesterday, on the way to work I had my car stereo cranked up really loudly and I was rockin' out to Def Leppard like I was 17!! LOL!!!!! Toooooo funny to see, I'm sure. I know that I don't want to fill my head or heart with the junky lyrics, but DANG, those boys knew how to ROCK! I love me some good ol' 80's rock. Monday is Rainbow Brite's Gotcha Day, so I'll be back then for some pics of what we do for that celebration.

Have a ROCKIN' weekend! ; )

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 310px; height: 310px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvrDeA5yNLf9UUCmXWziBF25709QMy1-3d5Dy4uNL3BRYyvRzl4fM-wItzd42uNEapWyC-YJPpg3uVIjV6pLxeljIjoZrQt-_AMAtOyySHPJKS6RgZMJcaG7YiR6bm4M-iF5jhPbCk6z_M/s320/def_leppard_hysteria_front.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297519809237725570" />PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-45742384909290659562009-01-28T04:57:00.000-08:002009-01-28T05:04:15.220-08:00Ice Ice, Baby<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXjZYSH38-wp0_kxuoHBP4zAKxaAMTdc4dIC2cTp0RbeSkW0jrtjQWZrdWZ3vfx8e4-v3Tqh69RWWG3IkDjMZz6I2a0pGxz7EQX8iuxB-g_vkHP3TwrHt6FIauAq96JWyBWEkS2ylr9do3/s320/ice.cubes.cold.bg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296328621080698626" />
This is ice. Got a lot done.

No ice.

Today? ICE. Another day off from school. Yeah! Except when we have to make up the stupid day in June---I will be more than ready to be finished with my job at school. Today will be fun at home again. Her choice. Love THAT! ; ) We celebrated the start of Chinese New Year by eating out at one of our favorite Chinese food restaurants. NOT a buffet. I really don't like those kind of places at all. It cracks me up when all those "Chinese" buffets serve pizza, Mexican food and all kinds of fried anything. I am a speech therapist with six different adolescents with Autism. I actually enjoy being around all of them. They are so unique. So intriguing and mysterious. When you watch the video online of their family in Paris just a few weeks ago, there is NO mistake that he is Autistic.

*Disclaimer: I am not licensed to diagnose Autism. I am going on my own professional experience in therapy with children with Autism.

If you aren't familiar with the "look" of Autism you might not see it, but anyone who is around Autistic children KNOW there are certain characteristics. J*ett fits the bill. I already prayed for this family to love their son more than Scientology. I pray that a Believer in Jesus Christ will make their way into the T*ravolta family's life and lead them to a relationship with Him. Then, I pray that they will use their high profile status to take down Scientology just by the public admission that their son had Autism, it was not conjured up in his head and that so much good can come from all of this. This has the potential to be HUGE if John will just see The Light.

So many Holly*wood celebs promote their "faith" leading so many others to follow the same beliefs as them, but we know as Believers of the One True God, according to the Bible that He is the way, the truth and the light. Maybe this whole situation will be used for His glory and many will come to know Him through it. Just maybe.PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-67256274666565044012009-01-06T19:27:00.001-08:002009-01-06T19:45:37.632-08:00Post for Specific GroupExcuse this post if you don't have a clue who these people are! Our friend got married last Sat. and these are a few of the pics.

***********************************************

Thought y'all might want to know who C's bride is. Her name is Heather and they seemed to be perfect for each other. Very cute! Sweet ceremony that Bro. B led.
The wedding was about an hour and a half away from us making it even FARTHER from Arlington. Her new haircut fits the look so perfectly! ; )

Better than that kind of GAP....Mister Green and I are so blessed to say that on Saturday night Rainbow Brite came to us very seriously and told us that she was ready to be "baptatized" and that she wanted to ask Jesus to come into her heart and forgive her sins.

Praise You Lord!!!

We have been talking a lot in the past year about what it means to be a Christian, a Believer. I wanted to be so careful to not lead her into any kind of decision that was not truly of her own desire. We carefully assured her that the decision of following Christ is totally up to each person and that we couldn't make the choice for her.

I cried last night. I couldn't help it. The emotion was too overwhelming. The moment she prayed with her own words to our Living God and asked to be His child was like none other I have ever experienced. It wasn't pride, but rather complete and utter gratefulness that He so chose to bless us with our daughter and allowed us to be the ones to lead her to Him.

Even though it was her choice to get her hair cut, she was a bit upset that "princesses don't have short hair!". I showed her a picture of Princess Diana and told her that she was a REAL princess and had short hair. That helped a bit. Now my sweet baby girl is a true princess for all eternity. When your Father is the King of kings it makes you an heir...no matter your hair style. ; )

She still needs some guidance and making sure that she really understands concepts of Christianity for her age level, but we are looking forward to her own Daddy being the one to baptize her soon.

If you read the last post, you know the heartache felt in our home over the past year. God just knocked our socks off with blessing in starting out this year with a bang!

We are separated from God by our sin. Jesus filled the GAP for us. For my daughter. Thank you, Jesus.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjcteseUZzQQJlCFY8LfrEAiTSccM4zKrBzkcRyqMf6sihEzy-RnnLQZfeSWTTjKnI-2xliVlLVvWtl8Loa9VGa096t0WEh9Uz8-5WguMxHqYWJjYZET4Hb5pcprlGx_an3DKTcj6Kwreg/s320/a1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287619735121553794" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghtPn4onJ8K1Xqkl2nWo2-otSYojB0kQ0_4VqgesdfGpH86bc-d1N7OyRSpiEzxSLlnUGcRMrnJwqX3okLRykIACLk2GKWlcefGfDOfJ7-OlMvxIdmYR65xQ4YkF7Jumx5OIOSscChJk6K/s320/a2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287619407444351410" />

People were bringing little children
to Jesus to have him touch them,
but the disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw this,
he was indignant.
He said to them,
"Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these.
I tell you the truth,
anyone who will not receive
the kingdom of God
like a little child
will never enter it."
And he took the children
in his arms, put his hands on them
and blessed them.

Mark 10:13-16PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-82778692089967833262008-12-31T18:59:00.000-08:002008-12-31T19:59:41.689-08:002008...Was It Great???<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinVdfXEWzicPs45H9TSR7l6VNRGrfGovpqnCqGiqqsHxZ3tE3yw9ZDyMusLbwObBxdF1CecQgi-22g0yAAbPvguFoeGkVVsSLEGWZ237R4ezl4gCrRVv4a6VeRWcBPGBfFkx9U9sbMDm_-/s320/IMG_0510.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286170015448189938" />
If I were to have posted my thoughts on the year 2008 just a few weeks ago it would have read far differently than how I want to post now. It would have said how painful and disappointing the events of the year were with one attempt after another and another and another seemingly failing in our efforts to adopt another child. It would have complained about the massive loss of money we shelled out for our adoption. It would certainly have been whiney about starting full-time work after a five year hiatus being a SAHM. I wouldn't have forgotten to post about our 14th move in 16 years the week after school started for Rainbow Brite entering Kindergarten. It would never have missed out on the sadness of saying goodbye to my BFF who moved to the other side of the world for the next three years, nor my other BFF who moved three hours away from us and I can't leave out the heartache of hearing totally different situations about two of our best friends being asked to leave their ministry jobs because someone else didn't handle the budgets well enough. I would have made sure to talk about how our doctor told both Mister Green and myself that if we continued on the same unhealthy eating path that we were on that we could count on being diabetic within five years. I would include the intense emotion that has gone on at our church after our music ministry staff all up and left at basically the same time leaving questions for many who didn't think they had all the answers. This caused great pain for our pastor whom we ADORE. And last, but not least, I would want everyone to know how this is the first year that I really felt old, wrinkly, saggy, fat and pretty much like I was falling apart inside and out--being the 20th anniversary of me being crowned Homecoming Queen and not feeling anything remotely like that spunky young Senior girl in the fall of 1988.

Nope. I don't want to go down that negative road.

Instead, I want to reflect on the amazing goodness of my God.
He has been so faithful to take care of me every step of the way even when I was pushing for my own will and calling it His.
He is so forgiving to take me back into His loving, gentle arms at every whimper of my tired voice.
He blessed me with fabulous friends, new and old.
He saw to it that we didn't trod down the wrong paths for our adoption attempts despite my constant pushing from January clear to the middle of December.
He hit me square in the face with the reality of the kind of place where my precious daughter came from when He allowed us to go on a mission trip to an orphanage in Guatemala.
He totally rocked at children's camp this summer!
He let us buy our incredibly fun Jeep!
He brought my brother and his family back to Texas allowing Rainbow Brite to get to know her cousins.
He gave me opportunities to be with my BFFs before they left.
He blessed me with a great paying job that is so easy and has great hours.
He blessed Rainbow Brite with a wonderful Kindergarten teacher and school.
He knocked our socks off with our precious house.
He blessed us with a friend who got my new Canon Rebel camera for a great price.
He is letting me watch our church come together and unify in a mighty way as we wait on His will for the flock.
He had me laughing down memory lane with several high school friends whom I hadn't even spoken to in 20 years.
He so wonderfully blessed me with a much needed girls-get-away weekend with my 3 college best friends.
He gave me time to read nine chick-books in June!
He challenged me to get out of my comfy SAHM box and do something great for our family by using my salary to get out of debt and plan for a Disney trip in 2009!
He so lovingly allowed Mister Green and I to celebrate 16 years of marriage!
He is allowing me to teach Biblical truths to the 6th graders in our children's ministry.
He let me celebrate with my parents their 50th wedding anniversary.
He led us to our current doctor who is one year older than me and who told us to "grow up" concerning our health which has in turn made us eat healthy and exercise regularly since Nov. 30 and we are on the right track finally!!!
He has given me much insight into how He protects us from the wrong move even though everything in my heart said to go full throttle ahead.
He has blessed me with an AMAZING husband and marriage that rocks my world.
He has blessed me abundantly with a BEAUTIFUL and funny daughter.
He has filled my heart with hope.

I can't explain the craziness of this past year. I truly felt beat down at times. I have cried over this adoption thing so much this year that I can't recall ever crying so many tears. If you were one to have given us money for our adoption, then PLEASE know that it went towards EXACTLY what I said it would: up front adoption expenses. I can't tell you what the future holds for us concerning adoption. So much has happened to close door after door after door that we have put our adoption on hold indefinitely. Don't know what that means except that we are trusting God for His provision at just the right time. We are getting ourselves right physically, financially and emotionally. Maybe that's what He has been waiting on. I do know that God is good all the time....all the time God is good. I questioned His silence a few times in the past several months. I wondered why all the losses. Even felt like I was being taunted and teased by Him at one point. I know that isn't His character. He loves me. He has a plan for our little family. I just know it.

So...2008. Was is GREAT? You bet....now that I am looking at it with a renewed heart and with the knowledge that God is who he says he is, God can do what he says he can do, I am who God says I am, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, God's word is alive and active in me. We had a blessed week with family and enjoying each other.
I needed a break from work.
I needed a break from being busy.
I needed a break from life.
Lately I have been really struggling with our whole adoption journey. Many twists and tangles leaving me and Mister Green emotionally raw. As I type this God has done a great work in me. The sermon this morning was just what I needed to hear. The past few weeks have been rough for me dealing with these adoption issues. I have been mad at God knowing full well that He didn't do anything to me, but is allowing suffering so that I may know Him better. I had to CHOOSE joy over the holidays. My heart wasn't in it, but lo & behold He blessed me anyway, even though I didn't deserve it. He DOES have a plan for our family. I just know it. The journey, however, is much more than I thought it would be. Despite my own sadness in my heart over adoption misleads I had a fabulous break and am actually looking forward to going to work being refreshed from the Thanksgiving holiday.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDk7tpJw3CY2kIMW-VWKj6fP7GbHZ_cCXtf5bTqUKT4mCJSsdjOk_0grY1HdJxCsrd4shw3h1wd4U77V3t0gYDL3kQcaOFLKOqJLhgJ2cJ8jo9OA3aAeYu_mIrheusnLBHWEczpGK305ba/s320/a1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274646943523284290" />
Picking up pecans is Rainbow Brite's favorite thing to do at her grandparents' land. My new love. I got my Christmas present early because I begged Mister Green to let me have it for Thanksgiving. Because I have a job and we have a friend who has worked for Canon for 30 years I am very happy to own my new Rebel XSi that takes AMAZING pictures!!! I have always wanted a camera that would take a picture and blur the background or show fabulous detail and also one that would catch action pics and NOT blur the subject. I finally have it and I took GOBS of pics over the past week. The best part was the TEXAS theme!! We love our Lone Star State and a good old Texas style Christmas came together on Thursday night. When I agreed to do the work (with a great team) I wasn't working full time and had the time to devote to it. Because of being busy all the time it came down to the wire of gathering all I needed. I couldn't have done it without GREAT help. We headed to the theater an hour early. Got there to find millions, literally, of crazy teenagers giddy with excitement. We oldies were rolling our eyes until a The Man in the Yellow Shirt came over and said, "I have something for you." Oh goody!!! Since the THREE screens were going to be full of Edward-lovin' teens they opened up a fourth screen JUST for oldies!! LOL! We adults guarded our doors and no teenies were aloud! It was glorious!!

The movie was nowhere near as fun or alluring as the book, but it was still good. The whole experience is what was fun. I got into bed at 3:00AM and then got up at six for work. I was actually still wired and did fine until about 5:00PM yesterday.

Thanks girlies---I had a wonderful time!!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh99ZHFqBB2Z7oiTNEBOoUhke1hnp3kQOMEne8nrC1MiegnQLTIeh5KjKSgSYDYge0VRIJYpl2qcQ1dXA4uMt3aotGUr6J24iqvoWuqo8fdh_c0IeP7a_iLED7jbsM6FJNgzmeCqG5D0cjt/s320/tw1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271476335977125138" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLi95gZI9GwlCCTMeooOLwhZziEdUkXZmR-oztFweTe5d_hmkgOT3SfFL-2OBU-4fn2ch_9lnzlSJWSe89uiPhuoWXnHX7TcnOivz7Cc1csX7e1Na8kpN_vWFiDJyKWeKUUuZewjTaMH0l/s320/tw3.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5271475990188545890" />
It's fun to be young...at heart. ; )PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-17247593922404719832008-11-16T16:15:00.000-08:002008-11-16T18:21:47.515-08:00A Peek at A Week #1~Wrote 10 sentences and sent it to my AWESOME pastor that said:
I will bring my Bible to church.
....all because I forgot my Bible last week and for some reason he made a HUGE point to say throughout the sermon several times, "If you brought your BIBLE...turn to...", but with very exaggerated intonations to make a point. My friends thought it was hilarious that I didn't have mine and it seemed as though the pastor was talking straight to me!!! He wasn't.

~Had to delete our Face**Book accounts because we were hacked into for the third time with the last putting our computer into an unending loop linked to p*o*r*n. Lovely. We had to shut down the entire computer by force to stop the loop. Now all the gobs of people we had reconnected with are just...gone. Poof.

~Prayed for several friends in need of extras prayers.

~Started using wonderful mineral make-up.

~My BFF from across The Pond called me for the first time since they left a month ago. Sooooo sweet to hear her voice!!! Very hard to talk in code without saying words that are God related so as not to compromise their position. When He permeates who I am I find that my vocabulary reflects that. I think that's a good thing.

~Basked in the glorious fall weather while riding in the Jeep with its top down!!!

~Discovered a new FAVORITE movie: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. Yeah, we're buying it. Awesome!

~Had Rainbow Brite's 6 year old portraits done. Awwwe. That's a good thing since I missed her 5 year old ones. Was a very interesting event. The only time to do it was at 6:30 pm. An ENORMOUS rain storm came in while we were in the studio. Left my phone in the car. The NEW photographer had NO skills in how to take pictures. I was at my wit's end with the day, the storm, the less-than-with-it photog and pretty much showed my snotty brat side at the place. Kicked off my shoes, marched onto the background area and said, "THAT doesn't even make any sense! Here." Ugh. (moving Rainbow Brite into a cute--common sense---position huffing and puffing along the way) Then I made it better by saying this, "THERE! THAT makes sense. Take the picture now. Take the picture NOW. Get THAT one! Take it NOW!" Not my better side. The pics turned out cute.

I made myself apologize.

Remember my phone was in the car? And there was a really bad storm? Mister Green was worried after our long departure. He was calling and calling and calling and thought we had been tragically killed in the storm. Then he tried to call the studio. They wouldn't answer the phone. Probably because they were dealing with some bratty blonde lady who wanted things a certain way. Hmph. He was LIVID when he finally got through to the studio. Not at me, but at them for not answering and was just worried about the welfare of his girls. Thanks, Babe.

~Bought all the decor for the big Texas Christmas shindig that I am decorating for at church this coming week. Got home with everything...except one bag. Yep, had to turn around and drive BACK to the store to retrieve it. Yeehaw.

~Had a super fun pap smear done by my new doctor...who is ONE year older than me. Ewe.

~Rainbow Brite has swallowed some kind of crazy giggle enhancing pill and has become the funniest kid on the planet.

~Waited all week for and still waiting for a special call from Haiti. Oh, the torture.

~Gave our adoption testimony at a seminar given by our old agency for prospective adoptive parents. Always love that.

~Oh, yeah, went to work. Woohoo. (Just joking...Thank you, Lord for the job!!)

~Need a haircut, need a haircut, need a HAAAAIIIRRRCCUT just now, I just now need a haircut, need a haircut, just now.

~Prayed extra hard for our adoption.

~Made a "souper" fall dinner for friends on Sat. night.

~Had fun rubbing off my BROWN EYELINER from the delicate edges of my LIPS. oops.

~And, I'm richly blessed.PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-67629294143631619932008-11-12T04:05:00.000-08:002008-11-12T04:06:37.304-08:00Wordless Wednesday - YUM!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3dRBX8WgvXOVtjnmFsy5WuTCdDkSfyAhKOwNP4jKyjZKKif7-Bg3TbveCpJ-J7zPUUc3fmwlXrwcVPEdACDmR7Cv68i2lsG6USAUKCMH7WU8If_UOjd6i8HH6bSvaYQB8WHsMR_cXB6jG/s320/SO_apple_small.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267741142609844130" />PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4887506827567572804.post-60158572931372556632008-11-09T18:55:00.000-08:002008-11-09T19:33:53.699-08:00The Quest<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyEmr13CrkEIaG_NoNG4JQyq5O2vyhu-M-dDJNnlHfxH2rEmB0rB5K830r1mc7AI9vE2bnaEwYyLwAEnlzntsfWcVXRouEnSiV-Yz_FBtQIkHvl_V6h4CReRt2hnK6Z-jJMZ0mspUHw3g7/s320/a1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266864290571166578" />
This is the best part about ministry to me. The Retreats. This is when you really get to know people. I adore the planning part because Mister Green and I LOVE working together as a team to brainstorm everything and then see the final product come together. This was a medieval themed preteen retreat for 5th & 6th graders. We wrote curriculum based on purity for the girls and guarding your senses for the guys. I won't go into all the tons of detail, but we REALLY took care of the kids and made it all extra special. We ended with a coronation ceremony for just the 6th graders where the girls were crowned with beautiful laurel wreath rhinestone crowns and the boys were knighted. The parents then prayed over their child. It was wonderful seeing families come together in unity. Our desire is to see families step it up and BE the family unit God has called us to be.

Anyone who has followed this blog long enough knows that any event we have for the ministry...Mister Green makes sure that Rainbow Brite gets a shirt, too. This time she stayed for the whole retreat. When I was teaching the sessions she would have on earphones and watch a movie over to the side. The other times she was RIGHT in the middle of all the 5th & 6th graders like she was one of them! Too cute!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGAbzifupIryIigncJVf1Yv4HhZhzrRiyoZGvSaH1aGgqWW7NSoxw7zsyLSTXpk4dZEE7x8hq5F8Ic25Nhhlx11Z_fCFXd_XaXNye4NkKP2Y6atEsiSMPA2nF2Q-M7Y2O7CRGA8pfMlQ9k/s320/a2.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266863605429945650" />
The kids were served chicken, corn cobs, potato wedges and bread which they had to eat with their fingers just like in medieval times. Pandapalooza has been a great ride, but with the addition of our little man from Haiti waiting in the wings I just felt the need to try something new. Remember kaleidoscopes when you were a kid? All those beautiful colors moving in amazing designs and shapes and figures. That is our family. Not conventional at all, but rather a creative work of art from the Master Artist. With white parents, an Asian beauty and a Haitian prince, our skin is a kaleidoscope of colors. More to come soon as this new blog is a work in progress!PandaMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03950252680639174490noreply@blogger.com19
